A highlight of the IMB Conference is the Conference Excursion. This year, we will visit the beautiful and historic castle Reichenstein, located above Trechtingshausen in the Mainz-Bingen district in Germany.

Reichenstein Castle is a castle in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. It stands on a mountain spur on the eastern slope of the Bingen Forest, above the Rhineland-Palatinate municipality of Trechtingshausen in the Mainz-Bingen district in Germany.

The history of the castle dates back to the 11th century and is a fine example of a reconstructed castle in the neo-Gothic style. Today, Reichenstein Castle offers not only completely furnished palace rooms, but also a museum, castle catering and a hotel.

Delegates will have free time to roam around the castle to discover its secrets, listen to an audio guided tour and to join a wine tasting with wines from the region. This will be followed by a dinner in a charming atmosphere.
